Azure Virtual WAN is a cloud networking service that provides a simple, central hub to connect and manage virtual networks and resources across multiple regions. It enables users to easily connect their on-premises networks to Azure and extend their network to branch offices or remote sites.
To install and configure Azure Virtual WAN, follow these steps:
- Create a Virtual WAN resource in Azure portal: Log in to your Azure account, select “Create a resource,” search for “Virtual WAN,” and select “Create” to create a new Virtual WAN resource.
- Create Hubs: A Hub is a central location to connect multiple virtual networks and on-premises networks. You can create hubs in the Virtual WAN resource and configure the network settings for each hub.
- Configure Connections: You can connect virtual networks and on-premises networks to the hub by creating connections. To create a connection, select the appropriate hub and network, and then configure the connection settings.
- Configure Routing: You can configure the routing settings for the Virtual WAN resource by creating route tables. Route tables enable you to control the flow of network traffic between virtual networks and on-premises networks.
- Configure Security: You can secure the Virtual WAN resource by using Azure Firewall, which is a cloud-based firewall service that provides advanced security features such as network traffic filtering, application rules, and threat intelligence.
- Monitor and Manage: You can monitor and manage the Virtual WAN resource by using Azure Monitor, which provides insights into network traffic, connectivity, and performance. You can also use Azure Automation to automate the deployment and management of the Virtual WAN resource.
Azure Virtual WAN provides a simple, central hub to connect and manage virtual networks and resources across multiple regions. To install and configure Azure Virtual WAN, create hubs, configure connections, routing, security, and monitor and manage the resource using Azure Monitor and Automation.
