Azure Stack HCI is a new hyperconverged infrastructure solution from Microsoft that allows organizations to run virtualized workloads on-premises, while also benefiting from the advantages of Azure cloud services. To install and configure the Azure Stack HCI preview, follow these steps:
- Download the Azure Stack HCI preview from the Microsoft Evaluation Center.
- Burn the downloaded ISO image to a DVD or USB drive.
- Insert the DVD or USB drive into the server where you want to install Azure Stack HCI.
- Boot the server from the DVD or USB drive.
- Select the language and other settings as required.
- On the “Select Operating System” screen, select “Azure Stack HCI Preview” and click “Next”.
- Accept the license terms and click “Next”.
- On the “Select the target device for installation” screen, select the device where you want to install Azure Stack HCI and click “Next”.
- On the “Select the type of installation” screen, select “Custom” and click “Next”.
- On the “Select the disk to use as cache” screen, select the disk that you want to use as the cache and click “Next”.
- On the “Select the size of the cache” screen, specify the size of the cache and click “Next”.
- On the “Select the network adapters” screen, select the network adapters that you want to use and click “Next”.
- On the “Configure networking” screen, specify the network settings and click “Next”.
- On the “Set up administrator account” screen, specify the administrator account details and click “Next”.
- On the “Review your settings” screen, review the settings and click “Install”.
Once the installation is complete, you can log in to the server and start configuring Azure Stack HCI. You can use the Azure Stack HCI Management tool to create virtual machines, manage storage, configure networking, and monitor the health of the system. Azure Stack HCI also provides integration with Azure cloud services such as Azure Site Recovery, allowing organizations to easily replicate and recover virtual machines to Azure in the event of a disaster.
